The New Yorker's A to Z of NY Food: M is for Mixology

M IS FOR MIXOLOGY! I just checked and my sources (a dictionary) claim that the word “mixology” has been around since 1872 but I’m still not convinced. I’m sure I never heard the word until a few years ago. Nevertheless, I’m happy for the emergence of PhD-ish bartenders who take the same care with their cocktails as the most revered chefs do with their food. If you’re looking for somewhere to try a degree-worthy drink head to The NoMad which won this year’s James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program. #cocktail #TNYeats #newyork. Photo: @jamespomerantz
